Last Friends Date

About a week ago my friends and I decided to plan our last lunch dates before baby Shank arrives. Since I will be having surgery for delivery, it will be a while until I can hang with my friends again. Oh and I will now have my hands full with a new little one, a toddler and the two older ones. LIFE will be FULL :)

So we did just that and I'm really glad we did. I got to chit chat about the baby, baby names, future happenings and catching up on our lives as moms.

The first date was with my bestie Beth. Of course we didn't take selfies...we totally forgot! The conversations were too interesting... however, I did capture Morgan's sweet "I refuse to smile for you" face!

I chose my all time favorite lunch. After all, I won't get any real food for 2-3 days after surgery!

I took the photo below because of course my daughter would do something like this...

The waitress had just got through wiping and resetting all the tables around us. I take my eye off Morgan for 5 seconds and then find these on the chair next to me. It takes me a minute but I figured out that she took these off the newly reset tables. Beth and I just couldn't help but to start laughing. REALLY MORGAN? I made sure to leave a little extra tip to the waitress!

The second date was with my bestie Melissa. We LOVE mexican food. Morgan always LOVES to see her 'Lissa.

This was a fun week and I'm really glad I got to visit with my two best gals before baby arrives.

My Watermelon {38 weeks}

38 Weeks with Baby Shank

Baby Update:

I'm technically 38 weeks and 3 days

The day baby arrives I will deliver at 39 weeks and 3 days :)

Baby is doing well. Measuring at 36 weeks (fundal height) and doctor is guessing he will weight 7-7.5 lbs at birth.
Heart beat is staying steady at around 164 bpm. Once he was at around 170. Not sure if this is related but he was having an active afternoon and his heart beat was recorded after about 20 min of rolling and kicking!

I've had contractions ever since I was around 12 weeks. Super mild braxton hicks. But this past month has been nothing but terrible. Contractions that stop me from walking completely. I had a little scare a week ago while cleaning. I started having contractions that were a little out of the norm. They hurt. They were felt through my entire lower back. I went upstairs and laid down. I started sweating - literally. I was really nervous the baby was going to try to meet us that day. I could wipe the sweat off my hands. After around 45 minutes of breathing and relaxing - they subsided back to normal regular contractions. No- they weren't labor contractions but what were they???? I was scared. Kale was a little nervous. Not sure what happened but I'm really glad I didn't have to go lay in a hospital bed for a day or meet our kiddo before it was time. Thank the Lord for the contractions going away. I'm not meant to have a baby naturally and my worst fear (water breaking putting me into true labor) was gone within 45 minutes. WOW.  What a scare. If I were to go into labor - I would still be full term last week but I surely wasn't ready to go down the road of being rushed to hospital by ambulance and having an emergency c-section either.
Weight Gain:
Wow. Well, I totally missed my mark BUT am totally o.k. with that. I've gained a whopping 136 lbs with this pregnancy and have 1 week left + whatever I've gained this week. I'm guessing if I count the last few weeks in I will have gained around 40 lbs total with this pregnancy by the day I deliver. I'm not worried :) Looks like a little more work for me after I recover and start a workout plan.
 My favorite Moment:

Choosing a name. Finally. Kale and I have gone back and forth on a few of our favorite names and this week we finally decided on the one we will call our little man.

I really Miss:

Shouldn't this be called what I'm going to miss (pregnancy wise) since this is my last pregnancy post? Well, I'm going to miss being pregnant. I will never be pregnant again and that's kind of like ending a phase of my life. I'm a little sad and what's really cute...Kale is also a little sad. He says he loves me pregnant and will miss seeing my bump grow in the future. I think 4 kids is enough though lol

Other News:

Swelling in my feet started this past weekend. I took my last few shopping trips to baby stores and the mall since I won't be able to do any of this fun stuff for at least a month. Saying good-bye to driving, hustling it up at the mall, taking Morgan on lunch dates and cleaning my home. Oh, I'm sure I will live. But when I'm back on my feet - its going to be nothing short of supermom mode!

I'm really excited to finally be within days of meeting our son. The boys ask me every single day, "How many days until we meet him?" It's adorable. I seriously can't wait until Morgan meets her baby brother. She doesn't really understand and she says she loves her baby brother BUT when she sees him physically, it will be a whole new story :) I think a video will be required when she meets her new bubby. I can't wait!

Daddy Update:

Kale is good. He is ready to meet his son. He is excited about announcing his cute name, his baby face and can't wait to hold him for the first time. We are both pretty excited to get off the hormone train :)

We are 7 days away from meeting this cutie! We are excited and can't wait!

Almost Ready {baby #4}

Miss Morgan and I went and fully registered at hospital in preparation for baby's arrival. It brought back SO many memories.

I kept thinking about all sorts of things like Kale dressed up in the blue monkey suit, the awesome anesthesiologist who was kind enough to take photos for us while in surgery, hearing Morgan cry for the first time...

I was in heaven but was scared out of my mind at the same exact time. Yes, it's possible :)

I'm in memory heaven right now.

Just 11 more days and we get to meet our little man.

While we were at the hospital Morgan and I both got hungry. So we hit up the cafe for something to eat while waiting to see my dr. for baby check-up.

She is seriously eating a bowl full or carrots :)

We are so excited to be in the home stretch!

Say Cheese!

"Morgan...say cheese!"

This is what I typically get as a response. It's cute and funny until I really actually do want her to smile!!

I had to BEG for this smile!!

Veggie Tales Live {2014}

Morgan had the dance off of her life last night! We got tickets a few months back for Veggie Tales Live at our church. I didn't expect it to be so awesome. It was extremely entertaining for the kids and I must say...the adults!

She danced and danced and danced. What a cute show!

And of course...this was Morgan within a few minutes of being in the truck :) Took this photo when we got home and just giggled!

We are definitely doing this again  next year :)

Blah...36 weeks!

O.K. How come I feel like this cat?! Oh...I know...I'm 36 weeks pregnant!

It's comical that I can barely walk, barely clean or get around for that matter. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom today. Took me like an hour. WITH  Tyler's help.

I roll out of bed sort of like this turtle does. Mornings are THE WORST!

Blah to my 36 (37 on the brink) week mark! I'm excited to be so close to my due date BUT man I'm as slow as a stinking turtle these days.

Kale reminds me that I felt and looked the same way with Morgan. I seriously don't remember feeling this way. He tells me "just wait babe...here in a week the house will be thoroughly organized, spotless and you will have packed and repacked your hospital bags at least 12 times!"

3 weeks on the countdown!

I CAN'T WAIT :)
