New House Shananigans

Yesterda was a HUGE day towards our move to home #2. We met our Realtor at our new home today and got news on closing.

We are set to close Sept. 11! BUT...I kindly told her that my birthday was Sept. 10 and she said she would see what she could do about closing on that day. Best..Birthday..present..ever!
We also got word from our contractor that all the remodeling will be done in 30-45 days. He also said he would start remodeling as soon as we close. I can't wait to post updates! The shape of the house now compared to what it will look like after will be a total transformation. I'm tired. Kale is tired. But we are really excited.

We took a few pics while we were out there today.

The crew - dad :)
Our little slice of heaven.

The boys talking about their future tree house and I believe that's my daughter saying..um no. That's going to be my princess retreat :)

Ryker is SO tired :) But he stayed awake long enough to help daddy get a few things ready for measuring the house

I have the feeling the kids will be so happy here. I mean can you see this? They don't get this at our current home.

The kids ran around like crazy people. Ryker loved all the attention from our Realtor. Kale measured every space in the home so that when we order furniture we don't spoof. We are a mess :) But a healthy happy mess.

I have the feeling the kids are going to really enjoy it out here. They played so hard they all passed out when we got home. I'm not kidding. Even our 13 year old was asleep and had to be waken for dinner!

This is going to be great.

Ryker's First Word!

To our amazement.........

Ryker's first word was NOT mama or dadda! It was actually Babba!

Like Bottle but babba!

He says this when he wants a bottle now and...I still get a little freaked because its like this little mini person is telling me he wants a bottle!!

Well, tonight he finally said it clearly. Mama.

You KNOW I am one happy mama right now right?

For the past few months he's been saying mamamama continuously so it totally doesn't count as just mama.

Well, he's also been kinda saying dadadada but hasn't clearly said dada.

I win. Because you know in this Shank family its always a competition right?!

Here is our little squirt over this past few weeks :)

Helping mama pack the house up

Playing early in the am in our bed

He LOVES the blinds

Sounds asleep in his big boy bed

We are so excited about these milestones and the ones to come!

Morgan is SOOO excited about starting pre-school (her first year) this September! She has her back-pack, her lunch box (even though I think they serve lunch) and a few pencils with a notepad (just like her brother's). This is a big year for Morgan!! I think, however, it will be a little hard to leave her once I drop her off!

Our 4th Grader

TYLER  - 4th Grade

Tyler was super excited about starting school this year. He spent around 3 days packing, unpacking and packing his back pack again. He was up already showering at 6am before I was even able to cook everyone breakfast! That's how Tyler is and I hope he stays that way :)

Tyler almost missed his chance to pass into 4th grade this year. Even though he had AB honor roll all year, he failed his iread test. After he came home from cross point the second time and his medication was accurate for him, he retested and passed iread with flying colors.

We are looking forward to a fantastic 4th grade year!! And...I do believe Tyler IS TOO!

Ryker Wayne | 9 months

RYKER WAYNE | 9 MONTHS

How big is Ryker?

age: 9 mo's

weight: 18 lbs

clothing: 9-12 mo's

You have 2 bottom teeth

Milestones:

Foods that you love:
sweet potatoes
apple puffs
maple puffs
green peas and rice
bananas

You still love the same foods but now you are eating more biter cookies. You are teething so hard and biting those cookies make you very happy.
You are standing on your own (while holding onto things) and crawling on your knees every once in a while. We are thinking that you will be walking some time within the next few months.

A Day in the Life:

You play and play and play. Not a whole lot has changed from last month to this month in that department :)

You sleep very little during the day. Naps have become more like 30 minutes of recharging so you can go at it some more. Energy levels are off the charts. You LAUGH so loud and babble on and on.

Your family loves you:

Not all lot has changed in this area other than the fact that you are now so mobile and LOVE to chase us around, crawl all over us and use all of your family members as jungle gyms :)

Note from Mom:

Ryker, you finally let me snuggle you again. For months you have been very independent (put me down and let me move!) but here lately you have enjoyed my snuggles. Every once in a while, I'm hoping to rock you to sleep. You lay on my chest for moments before trying to run off. I have really enjoyed these small little moments! I know they will come and go and won't last very long. I'm eating it all up :)

Home #2

New Home. New Project. New pretty shiny things. LOTS of work. I can't even tell you how much work will be put in this house.

I think it's safe to say Kale and I are ready for the guts, sweat and tears that will come!

Praying for His guidance and patience first and foremost. This is going to be a challenge having small children to say the least. This remodel will also test our patience at times.

But we are pretty ready to rock this joint :)

I say home #2 because we have future house plans but for now this will definitely do! Anything to get out in the country, closer to kale's work and our plan is complete to find a home that we can remodel :) But ya never know, we could end up being very happy here. I know Kale and I both will never miss our old neighborhood but we will definitely miss our first home. SO many memories were lived at 407 Maxwell. It will be bittersweet when we finally leave.

Here are a few pics of our home #2.

Front of Home

Back of Home

We are really excited about this house. It's seriously outdated and needs an entire gut and remodel but at the price range it was actually perfect for a complete renovation. It currently has a most of our requirements!! Plus a few that we weren't counting on like an acre behind the home and a POOL!

A photo our realtor sent us as she was opening the doors for us :

I don't know who they belong to or where they came from but I will definitely be feeding them when they come over to visit!

This photo was the icing on the cake for us.

If this doesn't scream countryside I don't know what does!

Right now we are in the process of closing here in around 30 days. Tons of paperwork, estimates etc. We are hoping and keeping our fingers are crossed for everything to go through smoothly.

We will post all of our updates on our blog. We are super excited to start this journey!!
