Christmas Day

{ December 25 }

Merry Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas to everyone! This year we couldn't be with all of our loved ones. We missed you all so much.

We are really glad we decided not to road trip. Baby Morgan was just still too small and I needed to recover some more. But ya never know who might show up next year!

Daddy Kale woke up first on Christmas morning. He put a a breakfast casserole in the oven for everyone (courtesy of Grandma Rush's recipe). Then I woke up with Morgan. I could smell the casserole cooking from upstairs. I was almost tempted to go sneak some before everyone else arrived.

Then we had the rest of the family show up. We wrapped a few last minute gifts that we forgot about and went off to the computer room where Kale decided to blare Christmas music throughout the house.

Then we woke up Tyler. We decided to record him waking up this Christmas. It was cute because he was still so sleepy. He was conveniently sleepy until he started opening up gifts.

{ we did record a video but for some reason blogger, vimeo, photobucket and all other sites I could think of wouldn't allow the upload. I'm gonna have to post it on our blog some other time after I get it figured out. Until then...}

Tyler was very excited about this nintendo ds. Santa knew that he really wanted one. Tyler has been wanting a nintendo ds for quite some time now. His older brother has one and Tyler is always bugging Colten to use it. Santa thought that this year was a good year for Tyler and that he was old enough to finally have one of his own.

The house could fall down around him and he wouldn't know it. He played this for hours!

Then we grouped together for a family pic

Little Morgans very first Christmas!

As I still smell this awesome casserole...we went ahead and opened presents.

Then Tyler and Kyle decided to chase each other around the house and shoot nerf guns! This was very cute. Tyler really likes Kyle. And guns!

Then we ate an awesome breakfast. Thanks to Grandma Rush for making this on the houseboat. We now make this at least twice a month for our family! Anybody else have great recipes? Send them our way! We love to cook!

And of course we shoveled food into our mouths and got a little full. So we sat around for just a little bit longer. No need to get up and go. It's Christmas!!!

Santa looks a little tired. Maybe it was staying up late on "Santa" duty. Or maybe it was  the cookies?
I decided it was about time for some more pictures.

Enough laziness. Grandpa Pekarek decided it was time to take Tyler to the park. Tyler loves riding his bike. This was the perfect opportunity for my little speed racer to burn off some of his energy. Then Grandpa asked for the bread. Bread? To feed the ducks. The ducks? I couldn't believe that after the "FEEDING THE DUCKS" incident, Tyler was actually excited and wanted to go feed the ducks. Why he would want to do something like that after such a tragic event is beyond me. So they left. A little while later I decided to go to the park with more bread. Get some pics. And watch Tyler feed the ducks. To my surprise he was good to go!

I love my little handsome man!

While all of this was going on, Grandma Pekarek cooked us a fabulous Christmas dinner. It was good. We ate like cows and enjoyed the day. It was a good day.

We all at some point decided to get out of our pajamas. They were too comfy!

After a very long Christmas day it was time to say our goodbyes. I didn't want to after only 2 short days of seeing our family from Florida.

This has been a great Christmas. I really enjoyed seeing everyone and being able to spend some much needed time together.
