Our Visitors From Florida

{ December 23}

Our family from Florida on Sharin's side arrived today. Grandpa and Grandma Pekarek, Aunt Theresa, and {hopefully soon-to-be Uncle} Kyle. My brother, his wife and kids ended up not being able to make it this year. But we look forward to another year with them. We were so excited to see everyone. They arrived in perfect timing. Kale and I had 6 tickets to the Icemen Hockey game that night. My dad had never been to a Hockey game before so this was nice for him.

We hit up Turoni's Pizzeria first. Got our grub on then went to the game. The old Hockey Arena was located in Swonderland. It's small and the building held just the Arena and a small ice skating rink. And the seats were concrete. Then there came the Ford Center. This place was huge and immaculate. I was excited to see inside this place given that it took long enough for the city to build the darn thing! We were too into the game to get any pics. I always enjoy hearing 5 year olds yell out , " Fight Fight Fight!" and "Does that ice taste good princess?" It's pretty crazy some of the fans these Icemen have!

While we enjoyed the game...Grandma Pekarek enjoyed the kids. I went out a few days before and bought 2 ginger bread house kits. So they would have a fun time while we were away. I don't even think they missed us!! Morgan slept the entire time we were gone.

It was also very nice that Colten was home just long enough to say hi and meet for the first time our family from Florida. He loves them. And now he has, I believe, finally met everyone.

  1. Looks like everyone had a great time! Glad Colten got to meet more of his family! Can't wait for our first icemen game together.
