Demo {week 2}

Demo is complete in the house. They have removed all the old and we are down to the studs. They have started on all new electrical and plumbing.

I had a meeting last week and this week over at the new house which I didn't expect. I never really knew how much was up to me. I guess for better words: I didn't realize how much I needed to think about in regards to where and how in the new house.

Things like:

Garbage disposal switch. Where did you want this? I asked for it to be placed underneath the sink.

3-way switch questions. Moving air vents around questions. How many can lights? Where is your new table going to be placed so that we can center your new ceiling fixture.

I mean. WOW. I just got hammered with 100 question {not that I mind}. I'm glad they are asking!
I mentioned homework in the last post - boy was I not kidding!! Lots of things to think about, pick out and draw up for our new house.

Here are some photos of all the demo work. I should really call this post week 1!

It's been a crazy week. When we go inside it doesn't appear that a lot has been done (I am female) but then Kale points out all the electrical, plumbing, everything that I wouldn't really notice unless he pointed it out. He says they are doing really good and on schedule.

We are really excited. I'm not as excited at this moment as I will be when things go from this to looking like a new home.

Ryker Wayne | 11 months

Ryker Wayne 11 months

Age: 11 mo's
Weight: ~ 20 lbs
Clothing: 9-12 mo or 12 mo

You have 7 teeth!! 4 on top and 3 on bottom

Milestones:

Well, Mr Ryker. You made things easier on yourself by popping in 4 top teeth all at one time. I've never seen this before but I sure am glad that's over with because now your my happy little chomper!

You have taken a total of 4 steps all by yourself. We know you will be walking soon and aren't even going to try to capture it on video. We already know we will miss it if we try.
You have slowly been trying to foods.

Foods you Love:

Chobani Yogurt
Cheerios
Cottage Cheese
Arrowroot cookies
Puff Snacks
Real Sweet Potatoes
Peas
Broccoli
You try foods here and there but usually do NOT like them :) Such as avocado :) You do not like avocado at this time!

You are attempting to walk. Yup. More and more each day. Day 1 of walking...we were happy to see 2 steps without falling.

You do not like shoes. But, every once in a while I do make you wear them :)

A day in the life:

Ryker, you still take the same two naps every day. Once at 10 am for around 30-45 minutes and again at 1 pm for around 1 hour. With your age right now I don't get a lot done while you are awake. You are attempting to walk, climbing on everything and getting into all sort of things. I like to keep my eye on you these days. Your favorite way to scare me? Climbing on top of the totes we have in the old dining room all packed up. You climb on top of them and sometimes fall off. So, I just keep an eye on you now so that nothing happens!

You are mostly independent these days. You don't want me to feed you as you prefer to feed yourself. You really don't want to be held until its around nap-time. You play on your own and like to explore. I love that about you.

Your family Loves you!

Colten and Tyler are helping out with you as usual. Colten has always been my biggest helper but here recently Tyler has had an interest in helping me out too. If we are carrying in groceries, Tyler will assist by helping you stay clear of the front door. We love that Tyler has been giving you attention here lately. Playing with you and other things.

Ryker : you are turning 1 in just a few weeks! We are super excited about your first birthday. We can't wait to share you 1 year pics with the family!

Faith and God's Timing

Our new little home as a family of 6 + 2 dogs.

We have had a plan for sometime now to find a new home for our growing family. Either it wasn't the right property. Wasn't a big enough yard. No basement. No rec room for kids. Way too expensive. There was always something that didn't make us smile from ear to ear or didn't give us a little peace in our hearts.
Honestly, for a while we thought this is it. This is the one. But we just weren't ready.

We had faith. We knew we would know that THIS is where He wants us to be. We patiently waited.

Finally. The time came and we couldn't be happier.

It's so true. I love this poster. We've waiting a while to move and to find our little piece of heaven back in the sticks. We have viewed at least 20 homes. 20! That's not including the ones online we viewed on our own. Our poor Realtor. Goodness are we really glad we waited. This house is smaller than the one we have now but boy it meets almost all of our needs. The property, the recreation room, the space, the redesign, the kids smiles, the dogs and just the happiness, the HUGE tree in the backyard and knowing the relaxation is there. No traffic. No loud noises. It's just perfect.

Real Food!

Real food for a growing boy!! I mean baby!

Our little hambone is serious about food. He was serious when it came to nursing and his bottle...now he's getting serious about using his chompers!

I. Love. It!

I have this insane feeling that his first birthday cake will be demolished...and not because WE smashed it if you get what I'm saying. CAN'T WAIT!!

And so it begins...Demo {week 1}

Kale and I have been looking forward to yesterday for a while now. Well... ever since we spotted the home and took our first peek inside. We KNEW this day would come and it would be wonderful.

We drove by yesterday evening to see what progress had been made.

:: A little Back-Story before I begin::

When Kale spotted this home and took me to see it for the first time I walked right back out the door. I said NO way and walked out. He laughed and laughed some more. He said "Babe, where is your imagination?"

I started laughing hysterically {and I mean that} and said there is NO way. There is just NO way!

And so it begins...

Here are some before pics of the house. SCARY. But...I had to look past all this. VERY far..into the future. lol.

Current Kitchen. This is actually where our family room will be when everything is done.

Current Living Room which is where our new kitchen will be installed.

The other side of the current Living room. This will become our new dining area.

They started yesterday by planning out what we discussed in our meeting last Thursday. Ripping out the old kitchen, living room ceilings and walls. Then they have to move all the plumbing etc. to the new kitchen. There is SO much work to be done. Kale and I are anxiously waiting for each phase to happen. We told them we would try not to bother them too much. HA! right :)

We were told we would move in ready around the week of Thanksgiving :) We are so excited they got started right away.

wowza. I seriously could just get all up in this house and sledge-hammer it to death BUT I can't so...for now... We have roughly 6 weeks to wait and watch. It's going to be SO hard!!! But we are excited and we are equally excited to share our little adventure with you guys!

Mayse Farm & Morgan's First Field Trip

This past Thursday Morgan got to go on her very first Field Trip to Mayse Farm! She was so excited to get ready for preschool that morning. She knew that she was going on a "trip" with her class and she knew she would get to ride a big yellow bus. It was an exciting Morgan for our 3 year old!

Here are some photos of Morgan on her First Field Trip :

Hay-Ride

Pumpkin Picking

Of course Morgan wanted to be different. Instead of choosing a pumpkin where everyone else was, she said "I'm going down here to find the perfect pumpkin". I thought it was adorable. I love her independence.

note: She is usually the leader in all situations
Duck Races

She loves tractors

We spent nearly 3 hours having a blast. She was asleep before we got home that day. Of course little Ryker was too :)
